2 die in Gauteng taxi head-on collision

Meyerton – A head-on collision involving two minibus taxis left two people dead in Meyerton, Gauteng, on Friday morning.

The accident happened on Weilbach Road, with one of the taxis overturning.

According to ER24, two people were killed, two were critically injured, and 13 others sustained moderate injuries.

"ER24 treated and transported five patients to various hospitals," the emergency medical service provider said in a statement.

The remaining patients were treated and transported by other medical service providers on the scene.

The cause of the accident remains a subject of investigation by the South African Police Service.
