Johannesburg - Two men accused of murdering former Johannesburg cluster commander Major General Thirani Maswanganyi appeared in the Pretoria North Magistrate's Court on Monday.

The case against Tshepo Mosai and Godfrey Moseki, who were arrested on Saturday, was postponed, National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) spokesperson Medupe Simasuku said.

They would appear again next Monday, with two other men, when they were expected to bring a formal bail application.

The other two, Isaac Vele and Nditshenidanelu Nefalolidu, appeared in court on Thursday.

On 17 June, Maswanganyi was found dead in a field near Hammanskraal, north of Pretoria, with his hands and feet tied.

A police patrol found his Isuzu bakkie abandoned next to the R101.

A police uniform and police identification card were in the bakkie, which prompted a search.

Brigadier Neville Malila said the investigation was still at a sensitive stage.
