Durban - Two people were killed on Wednesday when their bus overturned near Kranskop in KwaZulu-Natal, the province's road traffic inspectorate said.

Spokesperson Zinhle Mngomezulu said initial indications were that the driver attempted to avoid goats on the R74, near the rural settlement of Ntanjamili.

Two people were killed and 36 others injured. The injured were taken to a local hospital.

Netcare 911 spokesperson Chris Botha said eight people were seriously injured while several others were trapped in the wreckage.

"Emergency personnel had to use hydraulic equipment to free those who were trapped," he said.

Cr@p! Either poor training, bad driver or un-roadworthy bus. It will take a shovel full of goats to overturn a bus.... (Education such as school science would teach momentum principles: speed x mass) As to why there was no fencing along the road, well that's obvious. But the are just statistics, eh Cadre Minster of Transport.
