2012-03-27 08:40

Johannesburg - Two occupants of an RDP house were killed when a bus "flattened" it in Soweto on Tuesday, Johannesburg emergency services said.

The driver lost control of the bus, hit another car and then crashed into the house, in Braamfischer extension two, Dobsonville, spokesperson Synock Matobako said.

"It drove into the house and flattened it. The couple sleeping inside the house died."

Thirty-six people were injured. They were taken to various hospitals in the area.

yah neh just dont know where am safe anymore if you take a plane chances are it will crash, if you are in a taxi chances are that taxi driver will make you say your last prayer, if you are driving your own car some moron will decide not to abide by the road rules and hit your car and if you are sleeping in your house a bus or truck will smash your house where must we go. there is no safe place anymore.

Actually it killed the husband and a child... The mother was at work when she received the call about the accident... The atmosphere in the neighbourhood is just heartbreaking.... I hope their souls rest in peace :-(

I WISH News24 would get their facts right!! Nowhere in this article does it say a child was killed! My deepest sympathy to the family and friends, and prayers for a speedy recovery for those who where injured :(

I know the family, and therefore knew the two people killed. There children are not staying with the above mentioned late parents. I just hope the children are coping during their tragic loss and that the souls of departed rest in peace. Putco doesn't ever take responsibility. The driver represents it after all, hence I hope with this certain situation, justice be held to the highest decree.

The fact that you see so many busdrivers chatting on their cellphones or texting doesn't help either!

RDP house flattened by a bus occupants presumably a loving couple died in their sleep - Those who built the house must take the blame because even mud houses in Mamparafontein are of superior quality than those built by a "loving and caring" ANC government. Any way majority of people in Braamfischer voted for this ANC trash

      John - 2012-03-27 11:42

what a crappy comment kenny and it wasnt a couple it was the father and his child you insensitive creep.

  • Mbongeni - 2012-03-27 13:31
