Kimberley - Two Kimberley men were arrested for dealing in uncut diamonds after they handed themselves to police investigators, said Northern Cape police on Monday.
Superintendent Mashay Gamieldien said the two were arrested at 13:00 at the offices of the Precious Metals and Diamond branch in Kimberley.
Their lawyer accompanied them.
Gamieldien said: "It's alleged that the suspects were involved in buying state owned diamonds of 5.99 carat, worth more than R33 000."
Police said a payment of R24 000 was made for the diamonds.
The two men would appear in Kimberley magistrate's court soon.
Another man, Desmond Williams, 42, appeared in court on Monday.
Gamieldien said: "He was released on R1 000 bail and the case was postponed to November 17."
