Johannesburg - Two men were arrested in Johannesburg for
business burglary and malicious damage to property on Thursday morning, Gauteng
police said.
Warrant Officer Xoli Mbele said the men, aged 33 and 36 and both
from Malawi, were arrested at Express Fashion Clothing at 03:00.
"Four suspects were captured by CCTV cameras while
opening a roller door. Two suspects entered the shop and their accomplices left
them," Mbele said.
The men cut off a lock to gain entrance to the shop.
"[The] owner was contacted by the police and came to
his business. He entered with the police; two suspects were found hiding inside
a ceiling."
Mbele said a digital video recorder, used to monitor the
shop, was recovered from the intruders when they were discovered.
They are expected to appear in the Johannesburg Magistrate's
Court soon on charges of business burglary and malicious damage to property,
said Mbele.
Investigations continue.
