Johannesburg - Twenty-one children were injured on Wednesday morning when a minibus rolled on Mare Road in Roodepoort, west of Johannesburg on Wednesday, paramedics said.

When paramedics arrived on the scene they found the vehicle on the side of the road and most of the occupants outside, ER24 spokesperson Russel Meiring said.

"Paramedics assessed the children, believed to be aged between 6 and 12 years old, and found that they had sustained injuries ranging from minor to moderate."

There were no serious injuries.

The children were taken to various hospitals in the area, including Laratong and Helen Joseph Hospital.

The cause of the accident was not known.
