Cape Town - Three men were set alight and killed in a vigilante-style attack in Nyanga, on the Cape Flats, on Sunday night, Western Cape police said on Monday.
Police spokesperson Superintendent Nina Kirsten said the charred bodies of the naked men were found behind the railway station in the Kosovo informal settlement about 18:00. All three had their hands bound behind their backs.
Kirsten said the men were apparently dragged from a nearby shebeen and assaulted before they were set alight.
Police believe the attack took place amid rumours of people being robbed on trains.
No one had yet offered information and no one had been arrested.
