Durban - Three people were arrested in Durban on Tuesday for possessing R50 000 worth of dagga, said KwaZulu-Natal police.

Acting on information, police arrested a 34-year-old woman for selling dagga from her fruit stand, Captain Thulani Zwane.

"The [police] members then proceeded to Dalton Hostel, Umbilo area, where they arrested a 26-year-old man for dealing in dagga", he said.

Zwane said the man was found with a bag containing parcels of dagga, and another five bags were discovered in his room.

While the man and woman were being charged at the Durban railway police station, a 46-year-old man approached the police and offered them about R10 000 to release them and the dagga.

This man was also arrested and would be charged with bribery. The cash was confiscated.
