3 killed as trucks collide on mountain

Johannesburg - Three people were killed and 12 injured when two trucks collided between Barberton and Badplaas on Thursday, the Mpumalanga community safety and liaison department said.

The driver of a truck lost control while driving downhill and struck the side of a mountain before crashing into the second truck around 15:00, spokesperson Moeti Mmusi said.

"Three people were declared dead on the scene and 12 were taken to nearby hospitals."

Police were investigating charges of culpable homicide.
