Polokwane - Three people were killed when a van crashed into the Levubu River in Limpopo on Saturday.

Police spokesperson Brigadier Motlafela Mojapelo said police search and rescue divers recovered the bodies on Sunday.

"The three, a woman and two males, were travelling in a van when it crashed into the Levubu River and all occupants drowned. Their bodies were recovered today," he said.

In another incident in Giyani, the body of 19-year-old Tebogo Ngonyama, understood to be the victim of an armed robbery, was recovered today from the Ritavi River by the same team.

"As rains persist in some parts of our province, we call on our people to exercise caution when crossing rivers and only cross at... places when it is safe to do so," Mojapelo said.
