Johannesburg – A collision between three minibus taxis in Roodepoort on Tuesday morning has left 32 people injured.

According to ER24’s Russel Meiring paramedics arrived at the scene to find the taxis standing in the middle of the intersection at Main Reef Road and Elias Motswaledi Road.

They found that 32 people had been injured, including some children aged between 10 and 18.

Metro Police had to close the road and divert traffic because of the number of passengers, causing heavy delays.

"The patients were treated for their injuries and thereafter transported to various hospitals for further treatment," Meiring said.

The cause of the accident was still unknown.
