Durban - Four men were expected to appear in the Empangeni
Magistrate's Court on Monday, after they allegedly shot and killed a man and
wounded his girlfriend, KwaZulu-Natal police said.
The men allegedly shot the couple when they were walking
home in the Macekane area on Friday, Captain Thulani Zwane said.
The man, 27, died at the scene, and the 25-year-old woman
was taken to a local hospital.
Police were alerted and a manhunt launched. A vehicle the
men were travelling in was spotted later in the day. It was stopped and
searched.
Zwane said a revolver and a pistol were found in their
possession. The car was reported stolen in Durban in June last year.
The men, aged between 23 and 35, would face charges of
murder, attempted murder, and possession of unlicensed firearms and stolen
property.
