4 in court for stealing R7m

Johannesburg - Four people accused of stealing R7m from
Lukhanji municipality have appeared in the Queenstown Magistrate's Court,
Eastern Cape police said on Wednesday.
Andisiwe Mrwebi, 32, an IT manager at social development
in East London, Buhle Mayeza, 29, a municipal clerk at Lady Grey, Simphiwe
Makhasi, 30, a clerk at the Molten police and Thulani Mkefu, 31, a police
constable at Lady Grey appeared and were granted R20 000 bail each, on Tuesday.
"Two of the suspects, Buhle Mayeza and Andisiwe
Mrwebi, paid and are out. Two other suspects, Simphiwe Makhasi and Thulani
Mkefu, are still under police custody," said police spokesperson Pumzile
Makaula.
They would be back in court on 13 March next year.
