Johannesburg - Two men are expected to appear in the Middelburg Magistrate's Court on Wednesday after the abduction of four girls, two of whom were raped repeatedly, police said on Tuesday.
It is believed that one of the men was meant to give the girls a lift to their Coronation Park home in Witbank from Hlalanikahle just outside Witbank on Monday.
Instead of taking the girls home, he took them to his flat in Hope City, near Middelburg, said police spokesperson Captain Leonard Hlathi.
Once in his flat, it is alleged that the man and his brother took turns raping two of the girls, aged between 15 and 16, over Monday and Tuesday - while the other two were forced to watch.
"The statements from the girls indicate that the men used condoms the first time they raped the girls, but did not after that," said Hlathi.
It was only when the flat's landlord noticed something was amiss during a routine inspection that the girls were rescued.
"The landlord became suspicious when the man would not let him into the flat. He later discovered the girls and called the police," said Hlathi.
The man's brother was arrested in the flat and the man who allegedly abducted the girls was arrested at a shop in Middelburg.
