Johannesburg - A roadblock and raid have led to 41 arrests in Soweto, Johannesburg metro police said on Sunday.
Chief Superintendent Wayne Minnaar said two women and four men were arrested when R10 000 of jackets and trousers stolen from the Menlyn mall, in Pretoria, were found in their car.
A man, in his late 20s, was taken into custody for possession of a stolen firearm after trying to flee, he said.
The operation, on Friday night, was a joint action with the SA Police Service, said Minnaar.
He said 17 motorists were arrested during the operation for drinking and driving. There were also 17 arrests for illegal gambling.
