Johannesburg - Forty-six people were arrested for allegedly breaking windows and doors to occupy RDP houses in Marlboro near Alexandra, Johannesburg police said on Saturday.
Inspector Moses Maphakela said police received information from the community that people were breaking into new RDP flats.
On arrival, Bramley police discovered people had broken windows and doors to gain entry into the flats.
Police arrested the 46 people for housebreaking. They will appear in the Wynberg Magistrate's Court on Monday.
The flats are newly-built and will be handed over to designated people, Maphakela said.
