Durban - A total of 52 suspected sexual offenders have been arrested in KwaZulu-Natal in a clampdown that involved several police units, police said on Thursday.
Family violence, child protection and sexual offences units worked together in the operation that began at 08:00 on Wednesday and lasted four hours, said Captain Thulani Zwane.
Those arrested would appear in different courts in the province, he said.
Further information was not immediately available.
During the operation a man was also arrested for a murder committed in Msinga, another for defeating the ends of justice in Verulam, Durban, and a third for assault in Newcastle, said Zwane.
Similar operations would be conducted in the future, he said.
