Johannesburg - Six people appeared in the Khayelitsha Magistrate's Court on Wednesday after the killing of a 17-year-old boy, Cape Town police said.

Five of them were arrested on Wednesday morning after they were linked to the murder of the teenager in Khayelitsha last Thursday, said Captain Frederick van Wyk.

The five appeared with another 17-year-old youth who was arrested on Tuesday.

"It is believed that a group of youngsters attacked and assaulted the victim," Van Wyk said.

The teenager was found with multiple stab wounds when police arrived at the scene.

The motive for the killing was unknown.

Police were yet to inform the parents of the victim, who reside in a different province.
