Johannesburg - Six men were arrested on Wednesday afternoon for robbing an MTN store in the Johannesburg CBD, police said.

Patrolling police saw a white Toyota Quantum at the corner of Loveday and Fox, said Captain Pinky Tsinyane.

They parked opposite the vehicle and five men approached it carrying a plastic bag containing phones and two boxes with laptops.

The men were arrested along with the driver who was in the getaway vehicle, said Tsinyane.

Cellphones recovered included Nokia, Samsung, and Blackberry models.

Two employees were found inside the MTN shop, tied up with cables.

All six would appear in the Johannesburg Magistrate's Court on Thursday facing charges of business robbery.
