6 tourists hurt in game drive accident

Johannesburg - Six tourists were injured on Sunday afternoon after a game viewing vehicle overturned in the Faan Meintjies Nature Reserve at Klerksdorp.

Netcare 911's Chris Botha said one of those injured was a 9-months-old baby.

Botha said the vehicle fell onto one of the tourists, causing multiple injuries.

She is in a critical condition.

    Thank GOD there are no fatalities reported. A speedy recovery to all those injured. Not good at all for a 9 month old baby to endure pain.

    I say that the department of transport should make it compulsary for all public transport drivers to complete an advanced driving course. Peoples lives are at stake.

    Is there not a very low 'speed limit' in game reserves - private or otherwise. Another 'feather in the cap' for South African tourism....
