Johannesburg - Police arrested 64 people, including four wanted men, in Polokwane during a raid at Greenside and surrounding areas, Limpopo police said on Wednesday.

"The raid, dubbed 'Operation Clean Up', happened on Tuesday. The four, who are all Zimbabwean nationals, have been on the police's radar for some time and were sought for two armed robberies," Brigadier Hangwani Mulaudzi said.

"The items recovered during the operation included 37 rounds of live ammunition, a box full of dagga, stolen groceries, cigarettes, a computer, a printer, radio, and an assortment of construction tools such as a grinder and a saw."

The goods were valued at about R60 000.

Mulaudzi said those arrested were expected to appear in court soon, on charges ranging from armed robbery, being in the country illegally, dealing in dagga, possession of suspected stolen property and illegal possession of ammunition.
