7 criminals die as police storm house

2012-03-25 15:56

Johannesburg - Seven suspected criminals have been shot dead by police in Inanda, KwaZulu-Natal police said on Sunday.

The incident took place at a home on Saturday evening, said Lieutenant Colonel Vincent Mdunge.

Police received a tip-off that a "known group of thugs armed to the teeth" were illegally occupying a home.

"When officers arrived at the house, they came under gunfire from within the house," said Mdunge.

"The police returned fire and all seven were killed."

Police found three firearms at the scene.

The deceased were aged between 25 and 37, and were linked to crimes in Durban, said Mdunge.

Agree. Wonder how many people they would have killed if there was 7 guns in the house. Or maybe they did not pay sufficient bribes, or what do they call it "you pay me, I look after you... "

If only there were 14 guns in the house they could have killed so much more of these scum bags. Go cops. Bells on me

    Crime control"""""""

  • Liana - 2012-03-25 16:38

would you have liked the police to only killed 3 and leave the other 4 to get bail and disappear to cause further murder amd mayhem? they are out of circulation now. end of their crime story.

  • Leon - 2012-03-25 17:01

    they must storm parelement

  • Sechaba - 2012-03-25 17:04

This has to be investigated, you can't say a group is armed to the teeth but kill all of them and also find only 3 guys. This is not on.

      Vic - 2012-03-25 19:28

Sechaba, people like you should think before you put finger to keyboard! Were the cops supposed to tell the criminals to stop firing so they could first do a weapons check ? Well done cops !

      allison.steedman - 2012-03-25 19:28

It is so on Sechaba. Criminals whether armed or not don't deserve rights. Honest, hardworking, tax paying people have rights. People who rob, kill, rape, maim and murder deserve to die in the manner in which they live - you live by the gun, you die by the gun.

      Heaven.Tux - 2012-03-25 19:47

Even if 1 gun was found, those thugs could have used it to wipe off your whole family and leave only you to feel the pain.

  • boltonbarry - 2012-03-25 17:11

Awesome give those cops a Bells

  • Ricky Naidoo - 2012-03-25 17:19

Awesome stuff, that's what we need. More criminals being dead than paying taxes for and keeping them in our overcrowded prisons

  • Jayson - 2012-03-25 18:10

To all the ignorant few out there. One tends to forget what happened a couple of years ago. When 3 policeman on duty were brutally murdered in a similar situation. These bonehead thugs deserved what was coming to them. Big up to the Police.

      Mewik - 2012-03-25 20:21

When police know armed criminals are in a house they are supposed to call a special tactics team, they will plan, negotiate, minimise risk to themselves etc etc etc. No 1st world country would just casually rock up knowing full well that they will most likely be shot at and when they are shot at engage in a gun fight in a civilian area, the idea is to move to cover and secure the area to ensure they do not escape and so forth, again pathetic planning from the sap, no intention to minimise the risk to themselves, civilians and the wanted men. The law of this land doesn't state anywhere that the penalty for firing on police is death, I agree it should be but it isn't, so the police are the criminals here, by law, argue it all you like. So yeah do the math, 3 guns, 7 dead, 4 innocent people dead. Simple. Argue, moan, call people ignorant, just don't cry when you and your family are blasted to bits to by a bunch of cowboy policemen. People supporting such actions by law-enforcement is utterly ridiculous. Catch a wake up people the sap are more like a bunch of disorganised gun wielding thugs these days than a competent law enforcement agency.

@Mewik, rubbish... Go to youtube and lookup police shootings and tell me how many of those were tactical response units. And those ARE 1st world countries. You obviously do not understand the demographics of the criminals of this country. As an ex-policeman I know full well that you need to act IMMEDIATELY when you get news like this, criminals in this country move very, very, very quickly and they can disappear in a blink of an eye as they are often protected by the community they lavishly reward.

That is great work right there! Kodoos to the SAPS, give them a Bells and a day off!

      Luviwe - 2012-03-25 20:05

One shot of Bells and continue with the good work. Thank u SAPS a job well done.

  • ludlowdj - 2012-03-26 10:18

So the final story is that the police killed 3 armed men in self defense and murdered a further 4 men for simply being there.

  • Candice - 2012-04-17 13:45

I like how 'people' are murdered but 'criminals' die. Um how did they 'die'? If we addressed the issue of poverty, education and access to basic services there would be no need to worry about murdering criminals and the death penalty. Not that I condone the actions of the criminals but two wrongs making a right?

  • Frank - 2012-05-05 19:45

    Things are going well today

  • Robin - 2012-05-06 07:31

Nicely done, cops. Keep up the good work.
