Johannesburg - Six Nigerian men and two South African women were arrested when police seized drugs with an estimated street value of R60m in Pretoria, police said on Thursday.

Lieutenant Colonel Lungelo Dlamini said police found cat (methcathinone) and 11kg of cocaine on Wednesday night.

Police were led to various addresses in Centurion and Sunnyside by a suspect they had arrested earlier on Wednesday. Seven other people were arrested later when the houses were searched and more drugs were discovered.

"In one of the residents' [houses] police also seized two laptops suspected to be used for 419 scams," said Dlamini.

The group was expected to appear in the Pretoria Magistrate's Court on Friday.
