Johannesburg - Eight children were injured when the minibus taxi they were travelling in overturned in KwaDabeka, Pinetown, on Tuesday morning, paramedics in KwaZulu-Natal said.

"ER24 paramedics arrived on scene and discovered the taxi resting on its side and its young occupants seated on the side of the road," spokesperson Russel Meiring said.

The children had minor injuries and once they were treated were taken to various hospitals in the area.

According to Meiring the driver said he experienced a mechanical fault causing his vehicle to roll.
