9 prisoners in KZN escape

Johannesburg - Nine prisoners have escaped from the Qalakabusha Prison at Empangeni in KwaZulu-Natal, say police.

Spokesperson Phindile Radebe said on Sunday the prisoners escaped from the prison yard after cutting through a fence.

She was uncertain when the prisoners had escaped.

They were serving life sentences for murder, armed robbery and other crimes.

Radebe said the Richards Bay organised crime unit was investigating.

Both of which I have an interest in. When people use palaeontology to describe archaeology, it absolutely baffles my mind. It's like saying a civil engineer is a mechanical engineer. There's certainly overlap in geochemical techniques, but the two disciplines focus on very different elements of our natural history. In a nutshell (and heavily simplified) for those who are unaware, palaeontology deals with the evolution of natural life on this planet.
