ANCYL stalking case withdrawn

2012-03-23 13:04

Polokwane - Charges against two men accused of stalking ANC Youth League Limpopo secretary Jacob Lebogo were withdrawn on Friday.

The Polokwane Magistrate's Court struck the matter off the roll because of insufficient evidence against Peter Mthombeni and Phillip Nkuzana.

Mthombeni, a member of the SA National Defence Force, and Nkuzana, were arrested in Polokwane on January 25 this year. Police confiscated bullets and reflective clothing from their car.

Approached for comment about the case, Lebogo, a childhood friend of ANC Youth League president Julius Malema, expressed surprise at the developments in court.

"I was not even in court, but I will talk to my lawyer for a possible review of the case."

Limpopo police spokesperson Brigadier Hangwani Mulaudzi said: "We can confirm that the matter was struck off the roll and that police will continue to gather more evidence against the suspects to see if the matter can be reinstated."

But still, police must find out what was their business in polokwane, the possession of bullets, what else. Driving fast away when they see police vehicle. visiting Lebogo's place is also questionable.

Oh please. The SAPS have better things to do, especially in that waste land called the Limpopo. They are not the servants of the ANCYL. This thing had no merits when they were arrested.
