Durban - A suspected ATM bomber was killed in a shoot-out with police in Durban's Glenwood suburb on Tuesday night, police said.
Police spokesperson Director Phindile Radebe confirmed that an incident had taken place, but could not immediately provide details.
Sapa has learnt that police were acting on information and had located at least six men, who were believed to be connected with ATM bombings, on Moore Road.
While details are sketchy, it is believed that four men managed to flee, with one dropping a canvass bag outside a block of flats further up Moore Road.
A resident reported seeing a man jumping over a fence moments after shots were heard.
Moore Road was closed off for several hours as officers conducted their investigations.
