Pretoria - Pretoria advocates and sweethearts Cezanne Visser and Dirk Prinsloo appeared briefly before the city's regional court on Wednesday on a range of allegations including attempted murder and indecent assault of minors.
Their case was postponed to July 17 for a State prosecutor to be appointed.
Oeloff de Meyer, for Prinsloo, told the court his client, and probably also Visser, intended launching their own investigation into the matter.
This could only be done once the defence had received the docket and knew who the State witnesses were.
De Meyer gave an undertaking that the two would not interfere with witnesses.
The pair were freed on R4 000 bail each in December.
Visser sported a new red hairstyle on Wednesday.
At their bail hearing in December, the court was told that three minor girls claimed to have been indecently assaulted by the two.
At the time, the couple faced a charge each of indecent assault. Prinsloo is also charged with attempted murder - relating to a trespasser he allegedly shot at his home in 2001.
Police were also investigating charges of possession of child pornography and dagga.
A court official said on Wednesday the charge sheet had not yet been finalised. This would be done by the new prosecutor.
In February, Visser resisted attempts by Prinsloo to have their bail conditions altered for contact between the two of them to be allowed. They had split up shortly before.
Visser's legal representative told the court at the time she did not wish to have contact with Prinsloo and that he made a nuisance of himself.
A few days later, the couple reconciled and jointly asked the court to change their bail conditions so that they can talk to one another.
Visser in December said she was considering becoming a State witness. She later told the media she had changed her mind.
