Johannesburg - A man accused of robberies and theft in Muldersdrift has appeared in the Krugersdorp Magistrate's Court, Gauteng police said on Wednesday.
Benjo Alberto Chiau, 26, appeared on Tuesday on charges of robbery, possession of stolen goods and possession of an illegal firearm, said Brigadier Neville Malila. The case was postponed until 22 November.
Chiau, from Diepsloot, was arrested by patrolling police at 01:00 on 10 September.
Stolen items were allegedly found in his possession and at his home, as were two firearms, which had been sent for ballistic testing.
Malila said that, in an unrelated matter, two men, Alfred Zwane and Samson Madlaza, appeared in court on 15 October, in connection with the murders in Muldersdrift of Andre Jordaan, 50, and Alyssa Botha, 13, and the attempted murders of two people.
They also faced charges of house robbery and possession of unlicensed firearms and ammunition.
A third accused in their case was wounded in a police shootout during their arrest and was still in hospital.
Malila said more charges could be added.
