Johannesburg - Three people arrested for running a bogus
further education and training (FET) nursing college appeared in the Tzaneen
Magistrate's Court on Friday, Limpopo police said.
Thomas Murenga, Chiedza Shiyeza and Behilda Nyazamba
would remain in custody and appear again on 22 March, said police spokesperson
Hangwane Mulaudzi.
They would face charges of fraud.
The three Zimbabwean nationals were arrested on
Wednesday.
Police were searching for Nyazamba's husband, who was
suspected of running bogus nursing colleges in Limpopo and Mpumalanga.
The alleged fraudsters were arrested when students at the
college approached the department of higher education to enquire about the
institution's legitimacy.
"The matter was referred to the Hawks for
investigation. It was revealed that the college was not registered with the
department of higher education," said Mulaudzi.
