Johannesburg - Two men accused of beating to death a man locked up with them in a cell at the Durbanville police station in Cape Town are due to appear in the Bellville District Court on Tuesday.

At the last court appearance, both accused - Daniel Dyosi and Sipho Mhlanga - abandoned their bail applications.

Magistrate Piet Appelgryn did not ask them to plead .

They are charged with the murder of Eben Meyer, who was arrested on April 22 for public disorder and drunkenness.

He was locked in the same cell as Dyosi and Mhlanga. His body was found in the cell a few hours later.

Unless there was a "third force" why is it ALLEGED that the only other people in the cell killed the only other person in the same cell.

What a screwed up world we live in. Someone was locked up with hardened criminals for just being drunk, and now he is dead. The real criminals, the ones looting our government on a daily basis, are walking around free
