Johannesburg - Two Nigerian asylum seekers have been arrested on drug-related offences, say East Rand police.
Superintendent Andy Pieke said the two suspects, aged 29 and 31, were arrested after police patrolling the area spotted them running away.
Police caught the men in possession of 62 ecstasy tablets at a flat in Springs on Monday.
They also seized a hi-fi set suspected of being stolen.
The two are seeking asylum.
The tablets were inscribed with the symbols of a diamond, crown, crocodile and the letters SPA. They have a street value of about R50 each.
On Saturday, 64 ecstasy tablets and 35 rocks of cocaine were seized. Five Nigerian suspects were arrested in connection with that find.
