Johannesburg - Two men beat up a security guard and stabbed another at a clinic near Mthatha on Sunday when they couldn't get condoms, the Eastern Cape health department said.
The pair arrived at the Phakamile clinic near Mthatha at 01:00 and demanded condoms from the two guards, spokesperson Sizwe Kupelo said.
They allegedly attacked the two when they were told there were no condoms as the clinic was closed.
"We have facilities that are open 24 hours and those that open only during the day. People are encouraged to collect condoms at the time when the clinic is opened."
A case would be opened with the police.
