Australian stalker back in court
Cape Town - Australian Shumsheer Singh Ghumman appeared in the Cape Town regional court on Monday for allegedly petrol bombing a woman's home in Cape Town.
He faces charges of conspiracy to commit murder, attempted murder, arson and malicious damage. The charge sheet gives no details of the charges.
The case was postponed until July 29. Ghumman remains in custody.
All the charges are related to time Ghumman spent with Hannah Rhind, who he met in the United Kingdom.
He started stalking her and this led to his conviction in a London criminal court on a charge of harassment.
At the time, Ghumman held a management post with an investment bank in the UK.
He followed her when she returned to South Africa, and is alleged to have petrol bombed her family home in Clifton.
Ghumman's trial has been set down for August 2 until August 4 and again from August 16 to August 19.
