Spokesperson Amanda Funani said on Thursday police and paramedics had been called to a house in the Tswelelang informal settlement in Wolmaransstad after an 11-month-old baby drowned in a bucket used as a chamber pot.

A two-year-old drowned in the Brakkuil village near Zeerust when his mother left him playing near two buckets of water that had been used for washing laundry.
