Baby dies in Pretoria crash

2012-05-06 22:59

Johannesburg -  A baby was killed and another was critically injured in a taxi accident on the N4 outside Pretoria on Sunday, paramedics said.

ER24 spokesperson Vanessa Jackson said the taxi driver lost control of the vehicle and it veered off the road and went up an embankment.

"There was nothing more that could be done for the baby girl and she was declared dead on scene. A little boy was taken per ambulance in a critical condition to the Steve Biko Academic Hospital," said Jackson.

The remaining twelve people in the taxi were left with moderate to minor injuries and were transported to various hospitals for further care, she said.

Rip in peace little one, and our thoughts are with you and the little boy fighting for his life. When will we clean up our roads and put our tax money where it counts. Who cares about changing the names of roads and taking artists to court.... use the money to make SA a country where our children can grow up safely.
