Cape Town - A new-born baby was found dumped in a Cape Town field, the third in three years, the Daily Voice reported on Wednesday.

According to the newspaper, a man was crossing the Philippi East field at the Klipfontein Mission Station on Tuesday morning when he came across the corpse in a bag

He initially thought it was a doll.

Police spokesperson Frederick van Wyk said police were investigating a case of concealment of birth and no arrests had been made.

"This is now a graveyard for unwanted new-borns. It is a baby dumping ground... this is not good for our people in this community. We are not murderers here," community leader Yvonne Barthies told the newspaper.

In 2010, a baby was reportedly found in a plastic bag at the same field by a municipal worker. In October 2011, a three-month-old baby was found in a sports bag at the same location.
