Johannesburg - The case against a Pakistani couple
accused of kidnapping a baby and trying to kill his nanny was postponed in the
Johannesburg Magistrate's Court on Monday.
Khalid Ayub and Khadija Khan would remain in custody
until their next appearance on 1 February, when they would apply for bail.
The couple allegedly kidnapped 6-month-old Revelation
Jones on 8 January from his parents' house in Bezuidenhout Valley, and tried to
slit his nanny's throat.
They had rented a room in the family's house.
The boy's father received an SMS to pay R100 000 in
exchange for the baby's safe return.
The couple was arrested in Fordsburg on 10 January, after
a tip-off.
The baby was found unharmed.
Khan, 36, had three children from a previous marriage: two
boys aged 2 and 6, and a 7-year-old girl.
She was around seven months pregnant with her fourth
child, believed to be Ayub's.
