Cape Town - Robbers cold-bloodedly stabbed and killed a six-month-old baby girl in Lansdowne on Wednesday after wrenching the crying child out of a domestic worker's grasp.

Jordan Leigh Norton was her mother's first-born child

Jordan's mother, Natasha Norton, and the baby's grandparents, Vernon and Anastasia Norton, were not at home at the time of the robbery.

Grief-stricken Vernon Norton said four men apparently had burst into the house after pretending they had to deliver a parcel.

The parcel was addressed to Vernon Norton, whose teenage son, Dillon, was at home with the baby and a domestic worker.

Police spokesperson Elliot Sinyangana said the men, armed with knives, had tied up Dillon and the domestic worker and locked them in a bathroom in the house.

One of the men had yanked Jordan from the domestic's arms while she was feeding the baby.

Found baby had been stabbed

Norton said Dillon had pleaded with the men not to hurt the baby. After the robbers fled with a locked safe which contained Norton's firearm, Dillon wriggled free.

He found Jordan with a stab wound in her neck, lying on a bed in a bedroom and ran to a neighbour for help.

The woman ran with the baby's body in her arms to a nearby doctor's consulting rooms where it was declared dead.

It seems the robbery was well planned. On Tuesday night, the family received a phone call about the parcel that was to be delivered on Wednesday.

Sinyangana did not want to give details of the contents of the parcel.

FizpopMK says... Mazibuko must loose weight and stop talking nonsense, Zuma is a member of the ANC not the DA. It is us (The ANC) who will decide weather Zuma is or not fit to hold office in the term. For your information, Zuma had nothing to do with the organizing of the March to the Gallary, he never even spoke in the public gatherings that were organized to protest against the painting. We organized the march and we are not apologetic about it because we were not only defending Zuma but the dignity of black people and our culture. If Mazibuko is westernized, let that be her choice but we do not appreciate being subjects of ridicule and our cultural beliefs being criticized by people who do not even understand it. Zuma will respect the decisions of the ANC and stand for elections if he's asked to.\r\n\r\n\r\nHands off our president Read the article...
