Polokwane - A woman accused of defrauding job seekers was granted bail in the Thabamoopo Magistrate's Court in Lebowakgomo on Wednesday, Limpopo police said.

Bertinah Mabatamela, 53, was granted R3 000 bail and the matter was postponed to April 11, Lieutenant Colonel Mohale Ramatseba said.

The woman posed as an official in the department of agriculture.

"The victims were made to pay R1 000 in order to be employed as clerks, receptionists or drivers in the department of agriculture."

Eleven job seekers were apparently tricked.

No one is allowed to charge anyone a fee in order to place them in a job. The company looking for a candidate pays any fees. Never pay an admin fee or anything similar when trying to find a job.
