Johannesburg - The suspension placed on three driving licence centres in Mafikeng was lifted on Wednesday by the North West transport department.
Spokesperson Mandla Mathebula said the three centres, all which were based in the Matlosana Local Municipality, now complied with the required standards.
Stilfontein, Klerksdorp and Orkney were among some of the centres suspended by MEC Phenye Vilakazi earlier this month.
"The department has decided to permanently withdraw the authority of issuing drivers licences from the Coligny testing centre in the Ditsobotla Local Municipality, after it was discovered that the testing ground could not be repaired," said Mathebula.
He said the municipality was advised to construct a new testing ground at Coligny, which will only be allowed to issue learners driving licences.
