Jhannesburg - Inspector Leon September and his dog Sadam arrested seven suspects in three hours on Saturday in East London, police said on Sunday.
The pair, attached to the Dog Unit, arrested three suspects at Sizwe Cash and Carry after receiving a call that a burglary was in progress.
"They - with the help of a colleague - arrested three suspects, all aged 18, and recovered R1 800 in coins," said spokesperson Stephen Marais.
"The suspects will appear in court on Monday charged with housebreaking and theft," Marais said.
Also on Saturday, September and Sadam arrested four suspects, aged between 15 and 18 years, at Shoprite Checkers in central East London.
"It is alleged that the suspects gained entry through the roof of the shop," Marais said.
"They will also appear in court on Monday, charged with housebreaking," he said.
