Biker dies in Kimberley crash

2012-04-22 20:31

Johannesburg - A 38-year-old motorcyclist was killed when he lost control of his bike in Kimberley on Sunday, Northern Cape paramedics said.

ER24 spokesperson Andre Visser said the man had sustained serious injuries to his head and chest as well as suspected back and neck injuries.

"The motorbike had allegedly veered out of control, catapulting the rider from the motorbike onto the road," he said.

He said his condition started deteriorating rapidly after he was loaded into an ambulance.

"Paramedics started resuscitation efforts on the patient while transporting him to hospital. Unfortunately the man was later declared dead at the hospital."
