Blacks had most divorces in 2010

Johannesburg - Blacks accounted for the highest proportion of divorces in the country in 2010, according to a report on Tuesday.
This was according to the latest Statistics SA Marriages and Divorces report, the Sowetan newspaper reported.
Between 2001 and 2007 more whites got divorced than blacks. In 2001, 43.2% of all divorces were white couples. Blacks accounted for 23.1%.
However, from 2008 to 2010, the pattern started changing, with blacks accounting for 35.5% of divorces in 2010 and whites 30.5%.
In 2010, Gauteng had the most marriages of any province in the country, at 41 396, followed by KwaZulu-Natal with 25 862, the newspaper reported.
