Blitz nets 13 on Cape Flats

Cape Town - Thirteen people were arrested and 60 illegal firearms and ammunition were seized when police raided suburbs on the Cape Flats on Tuesday.
The pre-dawn raid was headed by Safety and Security Minister Charles Nqakula and his provincial counterpart Sydney Mufamadi.
The raid formed part of Operation Sethunya and targeted the gang-infested areas of Mitchells Plain, Manenberg, Steenberg, Bishop Lavis, Kuils River, Elsies River, Philippi, Grassy Park and Ravensmead.
Western Cape acting provincial police commissioner Glen Schooling said on Wednesday the 13 people arrested would face charges ranging from possession of unlicensed firearms and ammunition to vehicle theft.
