Pretoria - A Pretoria motorist has alleged that he nearly caused an accident after being threatened by a blue-light convoy on a local highway, Eyewitness News reported on Monday.

Manyane Chidi told EWN that he was driving on the M1 highway outside the capital on Monday when he was suddenly surrounded by a motorcade of BMWs.

He said one of the BMW drivers pulled out a gun and swore at him when he refused to give way.

Chidi claims he was forced to swerve into another lane, nearly causing a huge accident.

The incident will be reported to the Independent Complaints Directorate.
