2011-11-07 15:25

Durban - The discovery of a woman's body in the basement of Addington Hospital in Durban was being investigated, the KwaZulu-Natal health department said on Monday.

"At this stage we know that she was not our patient," said MEC Sibongiseni Dhlomo.

"The police and our forensic team would investigate the cause of her death."

Security personnel found the body of a woman, believed to be in her early 30s, on Thursday.

"The discovery of the body at such a place is cause for concern. We truly want light shed on a number of questions, such as why was she at the hospital basement?" Dhlomo said.

Police had opened an inquest docket.

Things like this happen as a result of incompetence, i am personally not surprised.

Yep , what we need is a nurse or doctor or hospital staff in general with a commitment to good nursing and handling of people, because at the moment all they want is more money and know nothing about caring for people. The women in the basement was obviously dumped there by someone from the hospital

Looks like Race_Race_Card has sent his comment to the wrong story and should have sent it to "Any excuse will do" for the ANC. Maybe Juju's his hero ? but his racist rubbish don't belong with this story. The only oppresion he has got is brain compression, does he realy beleive he is Juju's second comming ?.

Lets wait for the post mortem results. However, the basement (area) is vague as it doesnt tell us whether it is isolated, dark, eeery or whatever. It seems regular security patrols are not being done. had this been done, the lady would have been spotted either sick or sleeping or dumped. I am curious to know how all of this investigations will unfold.
