Body found in Durban hospital basement
Durban - The discovery of a woman's body in the basement of Addington Hospital in Durban was being investigated, the KwaZulu-Natal health department said on Monday.
"At this stage we know that she was not our patient," said MEC Sibongiseni Dhlomo.
"The police and our forensic team would investigate the cause of her death."
Security personnel found the body of a woman, believed to be in her early 30s, on Thursday.
"The discovery of the body at such a place is cause for concern. We truly want light shed on a number of questions, such as why was she at the hospital basement?" Dhlomo said.
Police had opened an inquest docket.
