Johannesburg - The body of a nine-year-old Gauteng boy - who went missing at the weekend during a flash flood - was found on Monday, police said.
Police spokesperson Superintendent Eugene Opperman said the boy and his father were on Saturday crossing a river in Ivory Park, during a flash flood, when they had gone missing.
"They were taking a short cut to get home ... the father's body was found the same evening," said Opperman.
After a 48-hour search, the boy's body was found at 10:20 on Monday.
"We again warn people to stay away from rivers, dams and lakes during heavy rainfall, because flash floods happen within seconds," he said.
