Johannesburg - The Springboks have sent condolences to the family of Westbury teacher, Zukisa Kela, who was murdered in Rhodes Park in Kensington at the weekend.

"We are glad to see the support he had for the Springboks," winger Bryan Habana said in a voice clip played at Kela's memorial service on Thursday.

"To the school, friends and family, we send our condolences."

The Springboks are in London where they are participating in the Rugby World Cup.

Habana said the team would continue to do their best as they progressed in the tournament.

Kela, a 25-year-old teacher, was an avid rugby supporter who was credited with reviving the sport at the Westbury Secondary School.

News24 earlier this week quoted school principal Been Robinson as saying that the last words Kela said to him last Friday were "Viva maBokoboko viva".

Kela, his fiance and another couple were attacked at Rhodes Park in Kensington on Saturday by a group of 12 men who raped one of the women, stripped the two men, used their clothes to tie their hands behind their backs and threw them in the dam where they drowned.
